Recommendations by Parents who Have First-hand Experience with Sunshine Academy:
I am also writing this email to recommend the Sunshine Academy School Summer Camp. My daughter attended their five weeks summer GT camp last year at the Oak View Elementary School in Fairfax. She enjoyed the camp, learnt a lot and was accepted to the GT Center Program.
During those fives weeks, every day the camp began with the vocabulary study, followed by the reading comprehension training, math practice, logic and analogue's training. It was a very well designed program. Teacher Peng were experienced and were very nice and really cared about the students. My daughter really enjoyed their daily spelling tests. She also learned to effectively use her time at the camp so she could finish most of work at the camp. The kids had their lunches at the school cafeteria; they had daily recess at the school playground. They even had optional chess lessons 2-3 times a week. My daughter enjoyed the chess lessons too. Overall it was a great experience for my daughter.
Sunshine Academy School not just offers great GT summer camp. It also offers great kindergarten summer camp and writing programs.
Sunshine Academy has excellent writing program which is taught by FCPS teachers and a College professor. Some of their students’ stories were published in the Anthology of Short Stories by Young Americans. I personally know one of their teachers Ms. Davis who taught both my son and my daughter when they were in the private school. She was the best teacher they had in the private school.
I recommend Sunshine Academy summer camp programs without reservation. I believe your child will benefit from their camp programs. This summer they will offer two sessions.
