Lei Gu was born in a family of musicians from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. She began to play the musical instrument guzheng when she was a child. She took lessons under the famous guzheng teacher professor Sun Wenyan and He Baoquan. In the eighties, with her refined performing skills and exquisite artistic presentation, Lei Gu performed the famous ancient guzheng music pieces “Qin Sang Melody” and “Harvest’s Drums and Cymbals” which won her the first place in the Shanghai Traditional Musical Instruments in the guzheng category.

由自幼师从上海音乐学院古筝名师孙文妍、何宝泉教授，上海名族乐器比赛古筝组一等奖获得者，原浙江省歌舞团古筝独奏演员顾磊老师执教。
